Carl Sainty

Carl joined Charter Construction in 1995, after monitoring safety for Amec on the Jubilee line extension. Prior to this Carl spent several years in Saudi Arabia, land surveying in connection with oil exploration projects.

Carl has responsibility for the overall welfare and safety of all personnel within the company (office and site based). In conjunction with the Director, he arranges a planned programme of training including safety awareness and first-aid so that the company complies with all statutory Health and Safety Regulations.

He regularly visits all sites and carries out Health and Safety reports in conjunction with the Site Manager, which is issued to the Manager and copied to the Managing Director, for further comment/action.

Carl is also involved in the preparation of tender submissions, which require his input, and in conjunction with the Site Manager and Surveyor will prepare all necessary method statements and risk assessments once the project is secured. He also deals directly with the project Planning Supervisor from tender submission to the preparation and issue of the Building Manual and Health and Safety file.
